Wow we've gone so far and seen so little -LOL- disappointed about the senery but thanking God every mile we make that we made it safely- even if it was a boring mile ;)
ok I've been taking notes so that I could do this in an organized way- hehe- lets see if it works
DAY 3
*****
We left our really comfy hotel early Wed. Morning and we were some where in North Dakota - totally prepared to continue to see nothingness for miles I was about ready to curl up and get some more sleep. When we came upon the Painted Canyons and Theordore Roosevelt National Park- all I can say was WOW!! the sun was rising and even though it was behind us it shine a beautiful glow all over these canyons- its the most beautiful thing I've seen thus far. Now I know that doesn't sound like much considering I've seen nothingness for soooo long but once you see the pictures you'll understand (and sorry that won't be tonight :S )
The beauty didn't last long and we continued to see nothingness again- I've felt like I've lived in an old western book but instead of a covered wagon- its a bouncing truck-hehe- We even ran into a town called "Home on The Range" I got a laugh out of that. We weren't to far from Havre and got stopped by a funeral precession which now I know that doesn't sound odd but it was in the middle of no where and they were headed to this old Spanish stucco church that looked abandoned which seemed really weird but then considering where we were we decided that this really shouldn't be weird :P
We arrived in Havre (we learned how to say it right but I've already forgotten) and had lunch with Mandi, Caleb and sweet little Emily. That was sooooo nice. First thing I asked Caleb was if Montana got prettier because what we had seen was kind of far from pretty -hehe- he said yeah but not the way we were going :p figures... I shall stop whining about the miles and miles of plains- God's creation beautiful even if you are seeing the same things for days :P
There would be nothingness for miles and out of no where there would be a Casino or liquor store- hmm such a priority -lol
What we feared happened- we got stuck at the border *rolls eyes* We wouldn't have really had a problem had we been staying in Canada because Canada doesn't require hunting rifles to be registered but I guess the US does- so we got sent back to the US side for Dad to register his guns. It was entertaining for me and Joleesa as we watched the really weird people that we prevented from going across - there were these two girls- weird looking ones that got stopped and we were wondering why and we quickly found out. They had bottles and bottles of hard liqour we just rolled our eyes-lol
We ended the night with meeting up with Beka and Jay Doran in Letheridge and by the time we got there we weren't able to spend really any time with them but I don't know about them but for me it was so worth it to see them expessially Elijah and Alana- I love those two to death they hold a very special place and my heart and it didn't take long for Josiah and Moriah to join them. Those are some really great kids- I love that family like crazy.
Day 4
Sis. Tammi I have pictures you'll probably use some day for your cards. Sorry though I don't have time to upload them and post them for you to see - I'm trying to post as fast as I can so others can use my computer...but I'll try to get them up as soon as I can so everyone can enjoy them
Ok today- we learned that Alberta, Canada isn't all that pretty the last maybe hundred has been a nice change but still no mouontains. I guess we won't get them till Dawson's Creek, BC. We also learned that Calgary is HUGE and not pretty like I've always heard it to be. I was hoping to see Olympic Park but it wasn't in veiw of where we went through- oh well. We did get stuck in a traffic jam. FYI dad and traffic jams aren't friends lol
We stopped at this one place for gas and it turned out to be a full service gas station- first I've EVER seen (we've seen a few sense then) but there was this cute rolly polly guy that was just so friendly and helpful- he filled the truck, washed the windows and offered to check the oil but that wasn't needed. It was new to me but it was cool. We're in Grande Praire, Alberta for the night and tomorrow the goal is to hit the Yukon not sure if that will happen but thats why its a goal...
anyways mom is begging to use the computer and I can't stand her standing over my shoulder :P plus its the end of my notes...so good night
I miss you all- I wish I could check your blogs but time really isn't on our side- so I hope all is well with everyone
(ps- sorry if my spelling is worse then normal I just did a real quick spell check)

*smile* Glad it was worth it to you. I know it was worth it to me. Hopefully I'll get to see some pictures you took. We realized the next morning that we didn't even take one picture! :(
Bek I don't have many pictures because it took me awhile to think uh "Take Pictures" hehe but I did get some with the kids :D that I love!!!
Jeremy- our plans actually were to make it to Dawson Creek last night but that didn't work. That would have been awesome to have you guys come and say hi and bye :)- ok I'm taking your word for it that its going to get better it has to its been to dull and to many people have said its such a breath taking trip- so its all up to BC to make it breathtaking hehe
Hi, Jenna. It was so nice to get to see you at the Assembly.
The bright side of all the boring scenery you've endured is that it makes the traveling easier. Mountains are what make the scenery gorgeous, but they can wreck havoc on overloaded engines. So boring plains will help you get to your destination quicker; it just SEEMS longer. ;-) Keep posting updates so we all can hear how you guys are getting along. You're in our prayers.
I'm looking forward to seeing your pics, but do understand that EVERYONE is wanting on the computer, so you must share.~grin~
Jer is right...BC is the prettiest of the western provinces. Alberta is the plains which means it is like driving across Kansas. *yawn*
Praying for you guys! Love ya!
Cool, I'm glad everything is going good. Painted Canyons sounds awsome. later
Sis. Smith- we actually didn't have much troubles going through the mountains. There was one time the engine started getting hot and so we pulled over and let it cool and took lots of pictures. I was actually wanting to stop more but oh well... I dont think my computer could hold anymore pictures hehe
