Today was the first day of our Sunday School Tie cutting contest. We had one visitor brought by Bro. Larry and Bro. Larry was on Bro. Grant's team. So Bro. Grant got to cut an inch off of Bro. Nowling's tie :o) I hope that after this first day and the people understand better how this contest works that they'll get excited and we'll have a great in flow of people for Sunday School.
After church Larry, his mom, Tim, Josh and Micah all came over for a big lunch feast. We had ham, and veggies, and salads, biscuts and cheesecake for dessert ~yummy~ Then we popped in the Assembly dvds and watched some of them before dad had us turn them off to watch football-lol- sad I know.
Jessa, Micah, Joshie and Mom went to town baking pumpkin bars and Assailiaq (thats how Micah said he thinks its spelled) again mucho yummy...now Micah and Tim are back over at the house and we're eating hot dogs and watching a movie. Fun Stuff!!
Well I'm gonna get me some food and join the others hope you had a good weekend

Sounds like a blast. What movie did you watch?
"Just like Heaven"
I liked that movie.
Asaliaq ... I think that is how it is spelled. :) But regardless, those sound really good right now! In fact all that food sounded good. *licking lips*
They were really really good...I havent had some sense Christmas of like '02 or '01 yummy
Don't think that I've seen that one. Hmmm...
I'm trying to figure out the contest...you mean they have to wear the same tie every Sunday, until the other guy completely has no more to spare?! Whatever is going on looks like crazy fun!
You split the church into two teams- each with a team leader. The goal is to invite people to church. On Sunday morning after Sunday School you total the number of visitors on each team... (if a diffuculty with members not coming out to S.S. then you could always have it be the most people present on each team.)
The team that has the most visitors the team leader gets to cut the other team leaders tie. Our contest is going 8 weeks so who's ever tie is the shortest at the end loses.
After a vistor has come 3 Sundays in a row they are then added to a team and can join in the contest.
As far as wither they wear the same time ever Sunday or not I just asked them to wear it during Sunday School. I think dad will probably end up changing his tie- preaching with a cut tie we found rather distracting lol
does that better explain it or no??
That is too funny, I can imagine it is hard to tie a shortie, not to mention how "stylin" it would look!
