What A Day

Its been a crazy crazy day. I went into work at 8 which I've been spoiled with an extra hour of sleep for so long that this morning was really hard to get up that hour early. The plus side of it was that I got off at 5 instead of 6 and the day went by fast. It was great. Spent the day decorating the store, helping customers, answering phones it was the most insane fun Ive had at work I think.

I dont need to tell ya all that I have an addiction to changing my blog around. This one maybe slightly over the top but its fun. I dont want to do a Christmas one just yet for a couple weeks or uh maybe days hehe this one will be cool.

I get to figure out blogger beta to do up a winter or Christmas template for someone- Can you see my big smile. I like learning new things and so this should be fun...

Well I have a few things to fix for someone and then I think Im gonna head to bed. I've got to work tomorrow. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

Wow!!! Great page, Jenna. Gotta love the snow. You're so cool!!!

Hhmmm... wonder who you could possibly be creating a Blogger Beta page for... ;-) I'll look forward to seeing some more of your work. Especially since it will be wintery or Christmassy! What could be better than that?!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I LOOOOOOVE IT!!!! I really think this blog looks more like me than it does you, don't you think? *hint, hint* Okay, well you don't have to give it to me. But the next time you're bored *HA!* and don't have anything to do, and you're just browsing around for a fun beta blog background for winter/Christmas (gingerbread boys would be GREAT!), I might could be persuaded to consider glomming (is that how that's spelled? Is it really a word?) onto it. *tee hee* Really, you are the QUEEN of the Great Blog Backgrounds! (Say THAT 3 times, fast!)

Gingerbread boys huh? hehe I've got two blog templates to do which I'll probably have done by tomorrow or Monday- I'll see what I can do for you. Beta isn't any different really as far as the way templates are done. :D LoL- now that you mention it it does seem very you :-D

I was just watching t.v. the other night and it took me about an hour to set up so I'm not overally attached if you are so very in love with this one you are more then welcome to it- or- I'll create you something else.... Either way works :D

I'm having trouble commenting on your blog. Twice I've submitted comments, but get an error message. *pouting*
As for the template; while you're out searching templates, if you find something you'd like better for YOUR blog I'd be happy to take this one, OR if you come across a great gingerbread boy wallpaper, I'd be happy with that. Whichever is easist for you.

Definition of "glomming": I believe it's a Festus Hagan (from Gunsmoke) term meaning to grab onto something and not let go. I have this mental picture of someone grabbing something, then covering it with their hands and body and turning away so as to protect it from being stolen away. Does that help?

I'm pretty sure Festus never used the term "glomming." The "ing" at the end seems to throw the whole thing of, especially when you see it written out. It sounds much better in a Festus-type phrase such as, "Matthew, you glom onto that thar rope and Ah'll yank ya' outta that well, ya' hear?" Then he'll take you back to Dodge and cook you up the best catfish you ever slapped a lip over. If you complain, he'll "be all over you like ugly on a ape." ;-)

All of that is to say... Mom really shouldn't use words such as "glom." Dad, YES, but it just sounds kind of funny coming from her! (When I first saw Gunsmoke when I was about 19 years old, I suddenly understood where so much of my Dad's phraseology had come from--he grew up watching Gunsmoke. In all honesty, Festus Hagan really could've been Festus Smith and come to our family reunions back in Arkansas and nobody ever would've known the difference! Ha!)

Becki, you didn't see Gunsmoke BEFORE you were 19? No wonder you thought that Matt Dillon was the meaning of life! You are also right, Festus would have NEVER said, "glomming"!

feeling rather lost- I have NO CLUE what any of you are talking about hehe- I've never watched Gunsmoke and the only think I know and I may not even be right but its an Old Western movie right???

Yes, Gunsmoke is a western, but it came on Monday-Friday in the afternoons, when I was a kid. Matt Dillon was the sheriff, Festus was his deputy, Miss Kitty ran the saloon and Doc Adams, was obviously the town doc. I loved it and even my two grew up knowing about Gunsmoke! The good guys ALWAYS won.

Jenna, I would rebuke you severely for having never seen Gunsmoke... if I hadn't lived 19 years before seeing it, myself! You're probably not all that interested in any of this, but hey, it's a subject I'm well versed in so I've got to elaborate! ;-)

Sister Tammi said she grew up watching it. That seemed strange to me because I know that my Dad grew up watching it. But then I remembered that Gunsmoke was the longest running TV show of all time--it aired from 1955-1975, thus covering the "growing up" years of my Dad AND Sister Tammi! The hero of the show was Matt Dillon, who now stands in my boys' cowboy room. (A 6' tall cardboard cut-out of him, actually.) As far as I know, it still comes on TV Land daily, if you get cable. Great show. We don't get cable, but I have several (a great understatement) episodes that I recorded years ago and now my kids are big Gunsmoke fans. We don't get Seasame Street or anything, but they can tell you all you want to know about being a good cowboy! ;-)
