A friend of Jessa's gave us the palm tree stuff for our bathroom.

We were going to print and frame some of my pictures but when I saw this picture I quickly changed my mind. The picture and the two votive holders were by far cheaper then what it was going to cost to print and frame my pictures.

I want to be at the end of that dock just sitting and relaxing- it just seems so peaceful.

The blanket arrived yesterday from Grandma and it looks so nice. She didn't even know what our couch looked like- we hadn't bought it at the time.

This chair is one that came with us from WI and we got the little pillow today.

I allowed $300 to be spent on the apartment we got the following w/ $50 to spare

Couch
Toaster
Can Opener
8' x 5' cream floor rug (it was only $30!!!!)
4'x2' green rug
11x14 framed picture
two 3 votive wall sconce
green bath towel (decoration use only)
brown hand towel (" ")
green wash cloth (" ")
a soup pot
frying pan
fun colorful plates w/ matching bowels
then two freezer mugs (they have water in them that you freeze and they help keep your drink cold w/out putting ice in your drink- that way it doesnt get watered down)

I think that covers the shopping. I was really proud of myself there was plenty I wanted to buy but didn't need.

The other accomplishment was I got a lot accomplished at work. I stayed organized through out the day and was able to leave work having cleared my desk off. My to do box not empty like I wanted but organized and ready to conquer on Monday.

The Hotel Captain Cook has a full function Athletic Club- with separate gyms, and spa's for the men and women in the hotel.

- like a YMCA or Alaska Club inside a hotel-

I handle all of the Club memberships.
*setting up new memberships
*running credit reports on each
membership request
*sending out denial letters if
they don't have acceptable credit
*setting them up in the computer
system
*setting them up with their
monthly credits to use in The
Crows Nest or Pantry
(restaurants in the hotel that
they are able to eat in and
charge to their accounts)
*computer depositing their first
months payment and deposit
*issuing their membership cards

then on a daily bases I enter into the computer the previous day's charges that took place in the clubs- such as if a member went tanning, or had a massage, bought juice. All of that has to be keyed into the Club ledger.

Then almost daily I have the Club Director (James) Club Managers (Don-mens club and Nicole-womens club) and Club attendants -haven't met all of them- coming down to the office asking questions on behalf of the club members. I like those because then I don't have to call the members myself :-)

Then random things that have to be handled daily is membership cancellations, membership freezes, account adjustments. Members coming down to the office, calling or sending in their monthly payment. Along w/ answering phones calls- our club members are judges, lawyers, doctors ect. ask anyone of the club attendants our members are high maintenance so I'm sure you can imagine the calls I get.

Then at the end of the day I have to make sure all payments balance w/ the Club ledger. If it don't :-S I dont know what happens I just know its not good.

About twice a week I have to go to the executive floor to meet with the treasure, and the President of the hotel to give a club report.

Then there is month end- shortest way of saying it- its a 4 day process to bill 890 CCAC members for their club dues and any charges they've made to their accounts. This has to all balance to the Club ledger as well.

That is a brief overview of what I do.

God blesses us in ways we don't understand. We never dreamed we would be on our own(not married) at this time in our life but its His will and its been the best thing for us.

please don't be jealous of us, please be happy for us and what we have. Just as we are happy for you and what you have at this time of your life.

:-)

please don't take me so literal, jenna. i was teasing... exaggerating...

i am so happy for ya'll and everything you are accomplishing.

and honestly, as much as i love decorating :).. i don't want my own place right now. this is my last year at home and i'm cherishing every moment i have with my family.

so its all good:)

Ecclessiastes 3, everything comes in its time. I know you were kidding Meg, but it IS exciting to decorate your OWN place. Married or not. You are so right, enjoy family, get all you can handle of them right now. Jenna I am so proud of you guys!!! Isn't it fun! Decorating, and this may sound weird, but cleaning and taking care of your OWN stuff because you are ultimately responsible for what it looks like. It looks great, and bargain shopping is great! We got our couch for $75 at a yard sale and I love it! (as much as you can love a couch lol) It was in great condition and not to mention unique! I got a picture that just love too at walmart for 5bucks. So go you! Its fun! The most expensive thing we bought has been our tv and tv stand. But that will come in time as you get more used to your expenses and what you can spare and what you cannot. I must admit when we first got married and even moments here recently, we seem to always be broke. But in reality we are much better off financially (thank You Jesus) and can actually do a few things we want now, WITH money going in savings. You and your sister are doing great and I am proud of you...as one newly "own place" owner to the next. _
