Real Quick then Back to The Point

I went to work today- worked all of an hour then got sent to "a very important meeting" turned out it was just a company orientation. It was fun and a nice change of pace from my normal day to day work- didn't have to be in front of a computer. Anyways due to a down flight - meaning 250 unexpected guest the hotel had to accommodate on short notice- instead of having the main kitchen prepare us a lunch (like what was planned) they kicked us out of the Fore Deck (section of the ball room) and sent us to the board room for the meeting and The Pantry ("side walk cafe" in the hotel)for lunch. Lunch was on the Mr. Hickel - which just ment it was free for us and him considering he owns the place hehe. Because of all the guest our interior hotel tour got canceled- which means Ive still yet to see what the rooms look like or the Crows Nest (4 star fine dining restaurant on the 20th floor of tower 3 :P- I learned that much today) I did find out though that the President/Owner of the Hotel (Mr. Hickel) went down to the kitchen put on a chefs hat and coat and pilled patotos for 2 hrs to help with the sudden over load the kitchen had. That was nice to hear. I've meet him and he's come down to check on small things he really doesn't need to know but its nice to see he's involved in things no matter how small it is.

The meeting was a little awkward at times because the majority of the meeting was hotel employees- or union employees- then you had three of us from Accounting which are actually considered Admin employees or Hickel employees. Certain things apply to us that don't apply to the Union and vise versa- such as hourly wages, time off, uniforms and stuff. A couple times the lady doing the doing the orientation mentioned things about us Admin. employees that the union employees didn't know and really aren't suppose to know. So that made things a little weird.

After the "very important meeting" I worked for another hour which basically just ment I got organized for tomorrow. Pray for me End of Month is coming up and I'm already starting to pull my hair out and its just starting. Its not to much work for me to handle its just A LOT to do. My boss even admits that its rarely this busy. So add regular work being busy w/ preparing to bill 740 something club members and doing a lot of it on my own and only being there a month... can you see my eyes popping out of my head :P I should be fine as long as I'm able to catch up on sleep.

Okay back to the point this turned out not to be all that quick and I don't want to bore you so heres pictures :-P

Okay Ladies Retreat

After the tea we decided to go the Sourdough Company for dinner and to the Alaska Wild Berry Factory which is across the street. We killed time at the Wild Berry place first because we weren't quick hungry yet. That brings me to some interesting pictures to have to chose from. Which ones will get me in the least amount of trouble even though I know Sis. Connie loves me and said she doesn't care :P

When you come to Alaska :) thats an invitation to EVERYONE :D We'll take you here because its the coolest semi touristy place . When you first walk in you see a floor to ceiling REAL Chocolate fountain.
Here is Sis. Grant, Sis. Connie, Jessa, Sis. Mom and Jo checking out the chocolate fall

Sis. Connie in her moose hat- I LOVE this picture- and I'm sure she loves me even more now *angelic face*
