Saturday we (meaning as a family) went for a drive. Sense moving out I don't believe all 5 of us have done something together. Dad wanted to see the big homes so we told him to head towards Flat Top (Chugah State Park if you decide not to climb the peak) We took a little detour but found our way to the top. I do believe its the highest point you can get to driving- I know several of the peaks can be hiked but I dont for see Mom and Dad doing that hehe. I hadn't realized that they hadn't been to the look out so we got them out of the car and to walk up to the look out. It was the perfect evening- well day- it was about 8pm but we live in Alaska where the sun doesn't like to go down until 10pm or there about.
It was breathtaking. Alaska is by far the most beautiful place I've ever been/lived. Yes I miss the rolling green hills, the large oak trees, the corn fields but you always want what you can't have. I wouldn't trade these mountains or that glistening inlet for anything. I don't believe Alaska will be home forever if/when I do move the place is going to have to have mountains.
I can't begin to comprehend how someone can live up here and deny over and over again that there is a God. How blessed am I to be so surrounded by God's glorious creation. I step out my front door (at both places) and I see majestic mountains. I step out of the Captain Cook and I look to my left I can see the mountain peaks in the distance and to the right the sparkling Cook Inlet. I do love this place...

AWWWWWWWWW...*big sigh of contentment* So pretty!
Alaska is SPECTACULAR!!! I'd welcome the chance to visit ANYTIME, but I'm especially excited to get to bring Sister Bishop with me. I know she's NEVER seen anything like what she's going to see there. It'll be so fun to show her around. =) She'll take marvelous pictures of seat backs, feet and other mind-boggling items all over Alaska! LOL! (She has a tendency to take pictures when she doesn't realize she's doing it. I love teasing her about it.)
Hey, I did that the other day...took a picture without meaning to, that is. Thankfully, it actually turned out, but oops! ~giggle~
