I had a wonderful first day of work! The people are some of the "most pleasant" people to work with. As I was being introduced to people thats the phrase they all kept using "she's a pleasant person to work with" (there is only 1 guy in Accounting)
I got the grand tour today which took about 2hrs. Boy was it grand- I've been in a few fancy hotels but nothing like this. I'll have to take a picture of our employee bathroom sometime- its a grand sight to see for sure. I met everyone from 4 of the 6 owners (all brothers) of Captain Cook to bus boys, housekeepers and laundry attendants. I then got shown the grand ballroom- WOW! Grand doesn't even begin to describe that. I also got to see inside the kitchens and meet some of the Chefs. One of the chefs is actually one of the brothers that own the hotel- that was cool to see them all working. Then they showed me the break room which looks and is a small deli for the employees - its all free- I can't complain there lol. After that I got taken up to the executive floor and met 3 more of the brothers(owners), the treasure, and their assistants. The president of the hotel picked on my accent and said I talked to fast to be from around here-lol
After my tour I went back to my desk and Kim one of my bosses showed me how to do several of the daily tasks. Then I met up with James (He's so cool) the CCAC (Capitan Cook Athetic Club) Cord. and he introduced me to Nicole who is in charge of the womens club and I got a tour of that. I was informed its prettier then the guys lol I'll take their word for that. Its smells so gooood in there. The womens club and womens spa are connected so though I didn't need a tour of the spa Nicole gave one to me. She is so sweet I'm gonna like working with her and I think I'm gonna have to make a visit or two to the spa. After that they showed me a few other things and then it was back to my office to read through the Club member policies and get familiar with those. I got quizzed on them just before I left for the day.
A blessing that I didn't see coming is after being there about two hours Amie (my main boss) came to me and told me that basically they gave me a 60 cent raise in pay. I didn't see that one coming but I'm thankful for it.
That about sums up my day. I get to do it all over again tomorrow.
People are still sick here (Mom and Jes) please pray for them and that Dad and I don't catch it- Jo has already had it
